As I come up with the images and words to narrow it down, I will be developing my ongoing design manifesto in installments. I love all sorts of design ideas and can appreciate that a lot of different people will like the different spaces I share, but in these “My Style” posts I will showing the styles that truly resonate with me personally and make an effort to explain and narrow down the reasons why.
- We’ve established that I love mostly modern, some mid-century modern, some vintage, lots of lighting, eclectic art & accessories.
- As far as color I’m drawn to lots of white and black with pops of bright colors.
- Metal, concrete, wood, brick, shiny/glossy/translucent matierals, and soft billowy/tufted textiles comprise my materials palette
- I like hard floors with rugs, open flowing spaces, lots of different storage options
I identify with the concepts: Cleanliness is next to Godliness, Less is More, and the wonderful William Morris adage:
Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.
Here are the first few space I wanted to share that I can really see myself living in. I’ve also recently found a few blogs that I always identify with, and of course they are all in Europe! More evidence I need to travel the world to really write my manifesto! 🙂 Let us know in the comments how your style came to be or is still developing, or how your taste is the same or different.
